During the shoot-off, 10 Rinehart Alert Deer targets are set with an orange dot in the middle of the 11 ring with 20 archers at a time - two to a target - trying to hit the dot. If the archer hits the dot, they receive a T-Shirt and an invitation to compete in the Dead Center Eagle Eye Shoot-Off. To qualify, an archer pays $5 for two arrows that are shot at a 1” orange dot placed on a Rinehart Alert Deer target. The Dead Center Eagle Eye Shoot-Off is conducted at the IBO World Championship and features qualifying archers from all three legs of the National Championship Triple Crown and World Championship. The IBO uses 3D archery as a fundraiser for their cause and has established the Bowhunter Defense practice range and Eagle Eye Shoot-Off to provide much needed defense funds dedicated to protecting our Bowhunting heritage. The IBO is also the first to establish multi-state 3D archery competitions, first to recognize National Champions in 3D archery and the first to establish a standard set of rules for 3D competition.
